NLRB announces new regional directors

NLRB Chairman Mark Gaston Pearce and Acting General Counsel Lafe E. Solomon have announced the appointment of Margaret J. Diaz as Regional Director in the Tampa Regional Office (Region 12). Diaz will be responsible for NLRA enforcement in the State of Florida (except for 12 western counties) and in 21 counties in southern Georgia. She replaces Rochelle Kentov, who retired at the beginning of 2012. Diaz began her NLRB career, in 1976, in the Chicago Regional Office (Region 13) and later transferred to the Tampa office. Before being appointed Regional Director, she served as a Trial Specialist, Supervisory Attorney, and, in 1997, became Regional Attorney in the Tampa office. As Regional Attorney, her duties included supervision of litigation.

Pearce and Solomon also announced their selection of Mori Pam Rubin to serve as Regional Director of the Agency’s Region 31 office in Los Angeles, California, where she will be responsible for NLRA enforcement. Region 31 serves portions of Los Angeles and six other counties in Southern California. She replaces Regional Director James McDermott, who retired in December 2011. Rubin began her career with the Agency, in October 1980, as a Field Attorney in Region 31. Since that time, she has served as a Supervisory Attorney, Deputy Regional Attorney, and, in September 2011, became Regional Attorney. She has been serving as Acting Regional Director since December 2011.
